  • More money will not solve your problems

So often I hear people say “If I could just earn more money, my problems would be solved” And you know what….your problems can be solved in a much quicker way…

Live within your means! This means that you should spend less than what you get in every month. Now you might say:

  • “There is nowhere else I can cut”
  • My loans exceeds my income already”
  • “My rent takes up 50% of my salary"

Now here comes the part nobody wants to heaR:

The reason why you can not come out on your salary is that you allowed your living expenses to become more than what you get in every month. If your rent is too much, move to a cheaper area. If your loans are too much, commit to paying them off and negotiate a lower payment with your creditors.

Think about it – a few years ago, there was a time where you earned about half of what you earn now – yet here you are – still surviving, and you probably have a lot more than what you did back then.

This means that there was a time where you could survive on less. The only thing that changed is when you started earning more, you consumed more which means your expenses increased with your income.

A person that can not keep his spending in check with less money, will certainly not do it when he has more money. A classic example of multi-millionaire celebrities who went broke is 50 Cent, Nicholas Cage, Mike Tyson, Johnny Depp, etc.

Here’s what you need to do:

Take a step back, go through your expenses and see where you can cut. If you look around your house you will see that about 90% of the stuff in there you haven’t used in the last 6 months – so sell it! You don’t use it anyway…

Here ARE SOME things you are LIKELY overspending on:

Take a step back, go through your expenses and see where you can cut. If you look around your house you will see that about 90% of the stuff in there you haven’t used in the last 6 months – so sell it! You don’t use it anyway…

  • Cable tv
  • Subscriptions
  • Cellphone contracts
  • Electricity wastage
  • Car payments
  • Rent
  • Eating out
  • Drinking!
  • Smoking

If you think you can not go without these luxuries, just ask yourself: Is it better to live with it or to live a life with stress because of it?

The point is – all of us have unnecessary things we spend money on. It’s your responsibility to take a step back and to see if you really need all these things.

The point is not to starve yourself – just live smart and cut out the things you don’t need. Most of the time – you will be able to cut a couple thousand if you are truly committed to it and reduce your stress by 80%.

Let me know by replying to this email – what is the biggest unnecessary expenses you have?
